COVID 19

COVID 19

Kaylea Roessler, Writer

As we wake up to daily developments, a continued lockdown, and economic uncertainty amid Covid-19 pandemic, many teens are feeling a sense of unease, and a loss of direction. These unprecedented times are creating trials for everyone, but however testing they might seem, with these challenges, come opportunities. Being a teenager myself, I’ve experienced many situations like these, and I have found myself staying positive and pushing through these trying times. Regardless of what your current days look like, you need to keep driving forward with good spirits. We don’t know when we will be able to go back to normal, or even what the new normal will look like. But what I do know is that this will eventually pass, so you need to have a strategy to ensure you’re ready to go.

This is a good time to accomplish things you’ve not had time for. Learn how to do something you have never done before. During this time, find a passion and invest your time in doing what you love, but do it safely and keep a positive mindset.

We should also use this time during this pandemic to slow down, sit back, reflect and refocus, get your priorities straight, and realize what’s important to you and how you really want to live your life. Because rarely do we get this kind of opportunity and this amount of time off, which is our most precious commodity. Video chat with friends to stay in touch. I wish I would have known how to prepare more in advance because now I worry every day about what I’m going to need if I’m out of something. I wish I would’ve known more about the seriousness about this virus. I feel there could of been more FAQs for us teenagers to read to understand the virus more. But whatever you do, turn some of this negative into a positive. Everyone stay healthy and positive. We will get through this.
