For ten years, Atomic Coffee Bar has remained a Quad Cities staple, paving the way for many other local cafes. Atomic always delivers a great experience alongside their much needed “pick-me-up” drinks.
I have been an avid customer since the opening of their Rock Island location in 2022, and have tried my fair share of their iconic energy drinks. However, I always steer back to The Lava Lamp. Containing Lime Rockstar base, Green apple and Blue Raspberry flavor, as well as White Chocolate, Lava Lamp is a classic, widely loved flavor. Sizes range from 16 to 32 ounces, and price falls from $3 to $7. Besides Energy Drinks, Atomic offers both hot and iced coffees, smoothies, matcha and chai tea, and even bakery items, such as muffin tops and cookie bars.
As for service, I had a very kind and energetic woman take my order. The rest of the employees inside seemed very productive and got my drink out very quickly. Due to its popularity, a big critique of Atomic is the long lines. Most locations have two lines, which I have seen reach up to ten cars each. While I am a customer, I also have experience working in a similar coffee shop, and I know how overwhelming it can be to see cars piling up. I give lots of credit to Atomic workers, because even though the lines look long, they move very quickly. I entered the line with six cars in front of me, and was only waiting for about seven minutes. I can tell the employees are working hard to be efficient and keep customers happy.
I also appreciate how Atomic has its own space for cars to gather. While it is in a parking lot like most other drive-thru businesses, there are large, designated spots for lines to form. Sometimes, other places’ space is very cramped and limited, or even goes out into the street causing issues with city traffic. At Atomic, I never feel in the way, or worried that I could hit something.
Atomic Coffee Bar is successful for many valid reasons, as their drinks are enjoyed by many and their service is highly consistent. Myself, and tons of others definitely approve of Atomic, and recommend it to anyone looking for a fun drink to get through the day.
