Flips Pancake House is new to Rock Island as of January 12th, 2026. Walking into Flips, it was a very positive environment, and it was a very cute place. Everyone there was very friendly, and all the workers had smiles on their faces. They were very, very busy when we got there. It was about 12, so I was expecting that because it was around lunch time.
As we were helped, we were seated very quickly, which I did not think would happen because it was so busy, but we were seated in about two minutes, and it was followed up with our server asking us what we would like to drink. As I looked at the menu, there were a ton of options for me to eat. They had anything from eggs to pancakes to waffles. The prices were very good there. Two eggs was only 10 dollars for 2 eggs, fruit, bacon and toast for 10 dollars!
After figuring out what I wanted, I ordered the two eggs with bacon and toast, as well as three pancakes. After that, my water was about half gone and a server came by and filled it up for me without me asking. After not waiting for more than 10 minutes, we had our food sitting on the table in front of me. I was very shocked when this happened because they were very, very busy and full, so I was expecting it to take 20 to 30 minutes, but no, they proved me wrong.
My food came out and it looked very pretty. It had chocolate swirled all over the top with whipped cream on each pancake. It was probably the most appetizing food I have seen in a long time. It also smells very good, as well. As I was eating, they came over and asked me many times if there was anything they could do for me or get me, and also asked me how the food was. After I was done with each plate, they came over and took it from me, so I had room on my table to continue eating.
After I was done eating, they came over and gave me the bill. It was cheap for a new breakfast place. Other places I have been are way more money for the same items I got at Flips. Overall, I would give it a 10/10. I am 100% going back there to eat sometime, and it is a place I would definitely recommend to someone who has never been there before, or to someone who is looking for a good, nice local place to go and eat one morning.
