Brews Energy is a locally owned business in Illinois, coming from Sherrard. People all over the Quad Cities rave about it, and I wanted to finally try it, and see if it was as people say it is. I usually always just go to Atomic or Starbucks. So after months of hearing about Brewed Energy, and how good it was, even better than the chain energy drinks, I decided to finally try it.
My friend and I left right after school, which was around 3:25. It took only around 5 minutes to get to the Brews from my high school. There was only one car when we first got there, and it only took 2-3 minutes for us to be seen in the drive-thru. I know a lot of local coffee places only really do drive-thrus, like Kick-Serve and Atomic, but other local places around here do have walk-ins, like Wholly Grinds right down the street from Rocky. They have a drive thru and a walk in. But I really do wish they had a walk-in added on because they would probably get a lot of business!
But besides that, it didn’t take long for our order to get taken, and the staff at Brews Energy were genuinely so nice and made conversation. It also made me feel better because I hate ordering for myself at any restaurants or coffee places, but the person taking my order was so sweet, and was patient with me and my friend because we had two separate orders. The pricing for the drinks weren’t bad. You would think it would be expensive, but it really wasn’t. You get a lot for your money. I got the Blue Lagoon energy drink with sour blue raspberry boba. You can get either Rockstar or White Monster as the base, but I get it with Rockstar. In general, the drink is a blue raspberry drink with other notes of flavors. I only paid $6.50 for a 24oz drink with add-ins.
We pulled into a parking lot nearby, and I finally got to try Brews Energy for the first time. The flavor of the drink hit me immediately. It was really good, and you could taste the other flavors that were in the drink. The flavors in Blue Lagoon are blue raspberry, kiwi, and pineapple with Rockstar as the base. It wasn’t overpowered by the blue raspberry, which is what I had originally expected. I usually don’t seek out energy drinks or crave them, but after having it for the first time, I wanted it again. I also liked that this specific energy drink place had the option to add boba and other add-ins. You can add white chocolate as an add-in, nerds, Nerd Clusters, or even different creamers. A lot of drink places don’t have boba to add into your drink, and it really adds to the flavor and texture overall.
I would 100% go back to Brews Energy and try different flavors on their menu, ranging from energy drinks to hot coffee, cold coffee, lattes, and even frappes, refreshers, smoothies, and even protein shakes. Ror example, there’s cake flavored drinks and different tropical flavors within the energy drinks. For the coffee, you can get simple flavors or get something more sweet, like smore’s. Even my mom, who rarely drinks any kind of coffee or energy drinks, loves Brews, and after going to Brews and having that experience shows me why people talk about it so much and praise it. You would think it’s just like any other coffee/energy drink place, but there’s something about the vibe and the drinks itself that gravitates people towards it. I would recommend this place over Atomic and Starbucks, and even Kick-Serve for that matter. So the rumors are true, Brews Energy drinks are amazing, as well as the service!
