The second semester gives students the sense of a fresh start. After the New Year, a tradition for many people is to work on change; limiting bad habits, and improving their overall well-being. Students Aneisha Williams and Lily Schriner are perfect examples for this. Both girls will be changing some of their old habits, inside and outside of school, to start the second semester off on a good foot.
Making resolutions on New Years is a great way to set goals. Aneisha and Lily have also set some goals for themselves. Aneisha’s New Year’s resolution is to “spend more time with my Bible, and also save my money to stop spending on unnecessary things.” On the other hand, Lily’s New Year’s resolutions are simple goals like, “going back to the gym and drinking more water.”
The girls also each had goals they wanted to meet outside of their resolutions. For Lily, she says she wants to “get good grades, pass my classes, go out to support school sports, and study more.” For Aneisha’s goals, she states that “I would like to qualify for State in track and field, and stay on top of my grades.”
In the new year, along with goals and resolutions, comes exciting activities! Both of these sophomores are also excited for new activities taking place in the third quarter. Aniesha is “excited for club volleyball season with Platform Elite, track season with the high school team, and my new computer class.” On the other hand, Lily is excited for “summer break.”
While lots of fun plans and new activities are blossoming, there were also hardships from the first semester that Aneisha and Lily plan to overcome. Lily wants to improve “my attendance and the time I spend at school, as well as how I handle the challenges finals might bring up.” Aneisha wants to improve on “getting A+’s instead of A’s, and pushing myself for the rest of the school year, so I’m properly prepared for junior year.” Something Aneshia struggled with last semester was “getting to first period on time. I’m going to fix this by getting to school earlier in the morning,” she explained.
Have these students started their plans to improve their habits? Lily responded with, “Yes, I have started working towards my goals for the second semester. I am working towards them by keeping my focus up in school and paying attention to what I am learning to better understand it.”
Sophomores Anesiha Williams and Lily Schriner are both outstanding students who are working hard to improve their high school experiences! Both of these girls have a very bright future ahead of them.
