How have I been spending your time?

Ben Samuelson, Writer

During this time of crisis, everything has been cancelled- from my soccer tournaments to vacations we had planned for this spring. Going outside poses a big risk to everybody, so it’s better to just stay inside, but that has started to take its toll on, not just me, but my family, as well. As you may know, my family is quite athletic. With all three children being involved in soccer, my brother in football and basketball, and my sister in gymnastics, we all miss our sports very much. Since we are unable to participate in the sports that we love, we are all basically forced to sit on our electronics, and only rarely make verbal contact with each other.

My sleep schedule is a whole other story. I would usually be sent to bed at 9:30pm at the latest, and usually stay on my phone until about 11:30-12Am. However, since the Corona Virus has kept us out of school, I’ve been staying up until 6AM, and when I do fall asleep, I wouldn’t usually wake up again until 4:30-5:00 in the afternoon. My brother and I have started something where if we aren’t asleep by 2:00 in the morning, we go upstairs and make Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. I haven’t really been active though, which is going to hurt me in the long run because once the season starts, Coach Almanza is going to quickly find out that I’m not in the best of shape. This CoronaVirus, and I can say this for anybody, needs to be figured out. I want to get my life back on track as much as anybody else does. So, all we can hope for is that scientists figure this stuff out, and fast.
