Challenging Moments

Morgan Freeman, Writer

During this hard time that we are all going through, for some people it’s hard to deal with what is going on. I would say for most of us Seniors, we are all going through it the worst. We didn’t think we’d actually get our last semester of high school taken away from us. Some of us will never get to experience our Senior prom or even our first prom. Most seniors didn’t even get to play their Spring sport and have their Senior night. Most importantly, we don’t even know if we’ll get to experience walking across the stage.

All I could think of was, Why us? Some people may or may not care, but I don’t think people realize how much class of 2020 has been waiting for this. Not only getting to graduate, having prom, and playing a Spring sport, but also making more memories with each other and our fellow classmates at Rocky.

It’s hard not being able to see my friends every day and not getting to laugh and make more memories. But texting and facetiming has helped a lot over the past 3-4 weeks, although it might not be the same, but it’s the only way for us to stay in contact with our social distancing.

I never thought it would get worse and worse. I thought we would be back in school at least by the beginning of April like we thought, but when it extended again is when it really hit me. I never thought I would miss school as much as I do now, missing the teachers, my friends, and just being in school, in general. Now I am just sleeping in every day like it became a daily thing that I liked at first, but now it’s a routine. I miss having a reason to actually leave the house.
