A minor setback for a major comeback

A minor setback for a major comeback

The outbreak of the corona virus has affected everyone. If anything, it has affected students and athletes the most by postponing their academics and sports within the high school they attend. For me, both of these apply. I am a junior at Rock Island High School and play soccer for the Rock Island spring team and run track for the high school in the spring- the season of the coronavirus. With not going back to school, a lot of students’ education has been pushed back.

With all the elearning out, the student have something to do other than just sit around and work on their technical work to improve their skills for their sports, which have been put on hold by the state with a no practice request by the governor. The end of the year has so many things that the students look forward to- the two biggest ones being the #The FTK fundraiser that the student council has been working on for a couple months, and prom, may be the single most exciting event that upperclassmen and some underclassmen look forward to. With time and if we follow instructions, maybe ourĀ  school year could be saved, but until then, goodbye school year of 2019-2020, and hello year of 2020-2021.
