Getting Through Quarantine

A lot of people and communities have been affected by the global coronavirus pandemic that’s currently going on. It’s a difficult time for so many reasons, people have lost jobs, gotten sick, had loved ones who’ve become sick, students aren’t in school, and people are missing important moments in their lives such as graduation.

There are also a lot of people who are very scared during this time which is understandable, but there are ways to help cope with everything going on. One of the ways that’s helped me is by staying informed about what’s going on without excessively checking the news or social media. It’s important to keep up with what’s going on in your community so you can stay safe, but sometimes the media can be filled with a lot of misinformation which really scares people. Another way that can help and has definitely helped me is by staying connected. Even if you can’t physically go out and see people, it’s good to keep in touch with friends and family. Make it a priority to stay in touch and talk to them whenever you can through social media or by calling them.

Finally, I advise you to find a way to keep yourself busy. If there’s anything you gained from this lockdown, it’s time, at least for most people. You now have the time to try something new or learn something new or even just binge a series on Netflix. As long as you’re keeping yourself busy. This pandemic has caused a lot of changes to communities and it’s been challenging, but there are a lot of ways to help get through it.
