COVID 19

My break schedule differs a lot from my old school schedule since now I have more hours in a day to do different things. I no longer have to attend school for 7 hours and go to practices afterwards. I no longer have to take 2-3 hour bus rides away to games on Friday and Saturday evenings. I no longer have to stay up a few extra hours a night to scramble to finish Spanish homework. I have all this extra time on my hands, and to be honest…I have no clue what to do with it anymore! I’m all Netflixed out! Naps are getting boring and my mom doesn’t want us eating 5 bowls of cereal a day anymore (she’s no fun).  What is there to do when the city is on lockdown?

I’ve been doing what I can while everything is closed. I’ve been working 5-6 days a week at 8 hours a piece, if it isn’t slow at my job-mind you, it’s never slow at McDonalds. Working all these hours brings in a lot of money every 2 weeks. But what good is the money if the malls are closed? I think I’m having shopping withdrawals!

During the few days a week where I don’t work, I apply for scholarships. School and my future is very important to me, but I don’t exactly have the financial resources to help get me through college. The corona has taken away a lot of my family’s income while businesses are being forced to close. Money isn’t rolling in swiftly. Don’t get me wrong we’re stable and comfortable, but college is VERY expensive, even to the more richer beings. I’m trying to make the load easier on my mom and dad.

Recently, I’ve  taken out the time to get cap and gown grad pictures done. I sat down with my older sister to plan a social distancing grad party! I have to come up with a guest list in the next few days, but it’s harder when you’re a well known individual in and outside of school to a wide range of people AND have a huge family! The stress is definitely there, but it’ll all be fun in the end.

I’ve also considered switching paths when it comes to my major and my minor. I still would like to major in Exercise Science, but I’m not sure about my minor anymore. I love drawing and writing in my free time, but I’m not sure if I want to go to school for a hobby. I’ve become more interested in the law with recent incidents happening, but going to school for law takes a lot of years, and I don’t think I have the patience. I ALSO like kids, but to a certain degree, and at a certain age. In conclusion, my mind is all over the place at the moment.
